Dear Soul,
I’ve been searching for you, the real you. I know that you’re here, but I can’t see you clearly. Maybe I don’t see you the way I’m supposed to.
Are you something I’m supposed to find? Or is it something I’m supposed to define?
My search has taken me all over the world, from the other side of the Earth to the deepest of my discomforts. And every morning, I feel like I’m starting all over again.
I’ve tried to define you. I want you to be bold; a continuous source of goodness, love, and inspiration. I want you to connect me to other people. I want you to be like a song that people love to hear. I want you to be like a classic poem that people can’t help but memorize. I want you to be like a happy memory that can’t ever change.
Fear, anger, and doubt always get in the way. But I believe you’ll somehow win.
Sincerely,
Roderick
